How does the Raise Moon deck work in Yu-Gi-Oh!?

The Main Deck Raise Moon monsters are Level 7 and most share the same effect: when you draw the card, you can reveal it to Special Summon it. That is the case for Cielo, the Veil of Raise Moon, Raise Moon Blade Shayna, Raise Moon Elegance Carol, Raise Moon Lamp Croucier and Raise Moon Wings Rapi.

So the deck needs to draw outside the normal draw. Several cards take care of it: the Field Spell "Raise Moon" the City that Never Sleeps, Raise Moon Starter Squeeze, or the monsters themselves, which you can discard or Summon to draw 1 card.

It all comes down to balance: with no card that draws in hand, nothing starts; without enough monsters to draw in the Deck, the draws give nothing. This tool measures both on your Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck.

The mathematical formula

During the duel, if there are N cards left in the Deck, of which K are monsters to draw, the next draw is one of them with probability K / N. For the next n draws, it is a draw without replacement (hypergeometric distribution):

P(≥ 1) = 1 − C(N−K, n) / C(N, n)

The decklist analysis applies the same law to the opening hand, accounting for cards that play both roles: it adds up every hand that contains a card that draws, then looks at what is left to draw in the Deck.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Raise Moon deck

Cielo, the Veil of Raise Moon, Raise Moon Blade Shayna, Raise Moon Elegance Carol, Raise Moon Lamp Croucier and Raise Moon Wings Rapi. Raise Moon Starter Squeeze does not have this effect: it is discarded to draw.

Enough for roughly one draw in three to be one of them. The analysis gives that rate for your decklist, and the grid shows what each monster more or less changes.

Its "when you draw this card" effect no longer applies. Some remain useful from the hand (discard to draw, Normal Summon), others do not: the analysis measures that risk.

Yes: you can log a card placed on top, placed on the bottom, or a shuffle with the cards returned to the Deck. A known card on top makes the next draw certain.
