How to read your deck statistics?

A competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! deck follows precise ratios. In general, 16 to 22 monsters, 12 to 18 spells and 0 to 6 traps form a healthy baseline — although this varies greatly by archetype.

The level curve shows the distribution of your monsters' levels. A combo deck will lean toward levels 1 to 4, while a Synchro deck needs a variety of levels to produce its Extras.

Dominant attributes can unlock certain support cards (Allure of Darkness for DARK, Trade-In for level 8…). Knowing your distribution helps identify these synergies.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck Analysis FAQ

What is the right Monster/Spell/Trap ratio in Yu-Gi-Oh!?

A competitive deck typically runs around 16 to 22 monsters, 12 to 18 spells and 0 to 6 traps in a 40-card deck. These ratios vary by archetype: combo decks favor search spells, while control decks include more traps.

How to read your deck's level curve?

The level curve shows the distribution of levels 1 to 12 of your monsters. A combo deck favors levels 1 to 4 for fast summons. A Synchro deck needs a variety of even and odd levels. A spike at levels 7-8 often indicates a Tribute-heavy deck.

What are attributes used for in the analysis?

Knowing your dominant attribute helps identify support cards: Allure of Darkness for DARK, Ties of the Brethren for same-type LIGHT, or special summon effects conditioned on attribute. The tool automatically detects your majority attribute.

How to verify my Extra Deck is well optimized?

The analysis counts your Fusion, Synchro, Xyz and Link separately. Verify that you have the necessary targets for your combos: if you run a Synchro engine, you need Synchros at the right levels. A balanced Extra Deck covers multiple game scenarios.

Does the analysis detect forbidden or limited cards?

Yes, the tool checks the legality of each card against the current TCG banlist. Forbidden cards, cards limited to 1 or semi-limited to 2 are flagged directly in the deckbuilder.
