Based on the opponent's board
Pot of Sloth draws a number of cards equal to the cards your opponent controls — the tool applies that number directly.
Several target cards
The card you're looking for isn't always a single card: add up every hand trap or removal in your Deck that answers the same board.
Pot of Sloth is a Spell Card that has you draw a number of cards equal to the number of cards your opponent controls. If you drew 2 or more cards, you then place cards from your hand on the bottom of the Deck, in any order, equal to the number you drew minus 1. You can only activate 1 copy of "Pot of Sloth" per turn.
Concretely, if the opponent controls 4 cards, you draw 4 cards then place 3 back on the bottom of your Deck: you only keep 1 net card. This makes it an ideal tool for digging up a card able to neutralize the opponent's board, since you freely choose which of the drawn cards (or cards already in hand) you keep.
The more developed the opponent's board, the more cards you draw and the higher your chances of finding the card you're looking for — but the more you draw, the fewer cards remain in your Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck for your future turns. This calculator lets you estimate your real chances of drawing a given card before activating the card.
Letting N the number of cards remaining in your Deck, K the number of target cards it contains, and n the number of cards drawn (equal to the number of cards your opponent controls), this is a draw without replacement described by the hypergeometric law. The probability of drawing no target card at all is:
P(0) = C(N−K, n) / C(N, n)
The probability of drawing at least 1 target card is therefore simply 1 − P(0). The calculator applies this formula directly, along with the full distribution of how many target cards you could draw.

It's a random draw without replacement, described by the hypergeometric law. The probability depends on the number of cards remaining in the Deck, the number of target cards it contains, and the number of cards drawn (equal to the number of cards your opponent controls). This calculator applies that formula directly.
That's the card's effect: the more cards the opponent controls on the field, the more cards you draw with Pot of Sloth, which raises your chances of finding a card able to answer a big board.
Yes: if several cards in your Deck can answer the opponent's board (several hand traps or removal cards, for example), add up the total number of copies to get your real probability of drawing one of them.
