What does Necromancer of Dragon Magic do in Yu-Gi-Oh!?
Necromancer of Dragon Magic is a WIND Dragon Link-2 Monster (900 ATK), Summoned with 2 Effect Monsters. Revealed in the OCG in Immortal Phoenix, it is not out in the TCG yet.
During your Main Phase, you reveal 1 Fusion Monster in your Extra Deck: until the End Phase, it takes the name of 1 non-Fusion monster in your GY mentioned on that Fusion Monster. You can then Fusion Summon the revealed monster by banishing its materials from your hand, field and/or GY. For the rest of the turn, you can only Special Summon Fusion Monsters from the Extra Deck.
This page answers it for every card in the game, and for your Yu-Gi-Oh! Deck.
The rules the tool applies
- Fusion Monster that names a non-Fusion monster : Only Fusion Monsters whose text names a specific non-Fusion monster (Normal, Effect, Ritual, Synchro, Xyz or Link) are targets, like "Dark Magician" on Dark Magician the Knight of Dragon Magic. An archetype name does not name any card. Under each target, the page shows the name(s) it can take.
- It must be Fusion Summonable : Contact Fusions (the Neos, ABC-Dragon Buster…) and monsters that can only be Summoned with a specific card (Dark Fusion…) are not listed: the effect Fusion Summons them, which they do not allow.
- 1 name + generic materials : Purple badge: only 2 materials, the named monster in the GY and the card itself, as a Dragon, WIND, Link or Effect Monster, or under the name it takes ("Blue-Eyes White Dragon" + "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"). These Fusions are listed first. Green badge: a single named material, the rest is filled with any monster that meets the condition. Orange badge: several named materials, you still need the other specific cards. Grey badge: the name appears elsewhere than in a specific material.
- The named monster must be in your GY : It only takes the name of a monster that is in your GY. In decklist mode, the page only keeps the Fusion Monsters of your Extra Deck that name a monster from your deck (Main or Extra Deck).
- It works as the named material : With its new name, it can be banished as the named material of the Fusion Monster, along with the other materials from your hand, field or GY. The revealed monster stays in the Extra Deck if you do not Summon it.
- OCG card not in the catalog yet : The card has no official entry in the database yet: the page shows neither its card details nor any odds. As an Extra Deck Link Monster it is never drawn, and its conditions (2 Effect Monsters on the field, the named monster in the GY) depend on the duel.
How to use the tool
- 1. Every card in the game : Every target is listed, most viewed first. Filter by name, Attribute, Type or Level, and sort by ATK, DEF or release date.
- 2. In my decklist : Import a deck (YDKE code or saved deck): the tool separates the cards of your deck the effect can reach from those it cannot.
- 3. Adjust your deck : Spot the targets you are not playing yet, open their card page, then test the new list in the deckbuilder.
